9/5/08 - Hi again! I have to tell you, I am feeling sooooo much better than when I first arrived here in Arkansas! They are feeding me really, really good here at the kennel, and I'm putting on weight and looking much better! (I'll let someone take my picture again very soon so you can see how beautiful I am getting!) I haven't had my shots to get rid of these worms in my heart yet, but since I'm doing so good, it shouldn't be long. Hey, I have a little secret to tell you . . . shhhhhh! Don't tell anybody else, but I LOVE THE MEN FOLK! I really do! Girl folk are nice too, but I just think men are the coolest thing since ice water! Anyway, that's all I have to say today, but I'll write again soon if they let me! Meanwhile, are there any really, really nice men-folk out there who would let me bunk on their couch? I won't be any trouble; cross my heart!
Hello! My name is Edith Ann and I am new to Razorback country. I just rode in from Texas yesterday. It was a long day for me, but I didn't mind. I got lots of attention, I was comfortable in my crate and everybody just treated me so nicely! As a matter of fact, they still are! Well, they say that some day I will be up for adoption and will go to my "furever" home, but for now, I must concentrate on getting better. I have those awful worms in my heart and will be getting shots to make them go away. But I'm awfully skinny, too, so I get to have a lot of groceries before then (that's the fun part!). I also had lots of babies in my lifetime and these Arkansas ladies tell me that I won't have to do that anymore. I'm very glad about that because the world doesn't need anymore "throw away babies". Besides that, birthin babies is no fun! So they tell me I will have an operation to take care of that. Meanwhile, I don't have a foster home so I will have to be boarding at a kennel, and that will cost these good rescue people more money. So I'm asking everybody to please think about sending a donation to help pay for my keep, or, better yet, let me come stay at your house until I'm well enough to be up for adoption! Either way is good. I just want you all to know that just because I have a little gray on my face, does not mean that I'm too old to need a home. I can be an even better companion than some of the young sprouts that you see around me! I won't jump on you and I won't pee all over house or chew on things that I shouldn't be chewing on. I love to cuddle and can keep you warm on these cold nights that will be coming up very soon. (Speaking of which, it sure would be nice to have you keeping ME warm, rather than having to spend the winter in a kennel!) So please contact the nice people at BoxAR Rescue and talk about me and my needs. I'm looking forward to meeting you!
NOTE: We are not a shelter or pound. We don't have a facility. We are all volunteers who love the Boxers. We have jobs and families and don't have "regular business hours". For this reason, we don't show the dogs until an application has been submitted. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt a Boxer, but it does tell us that your interest in rescue is serious. We thank you for being considerate of our time and efforts.
