Special Needs: Needs heartworm test; Deaf

UPDATE: 8/24/09- Reggie is finally in a foster home in Arkansas. We posted new pictures and will let you know more as we learn more about him.

UPDATE: 6/15/09- Reggie needs to leave his temporary foster home on the MS/LA line down east of New Orleans. He needs someone to love and work with him. He is deaf and needs special attention. He has not been HW tested.  He has full weight now.  He had never been around other dogs and does not know how to play.  He does not fight - he just wants to play.  He just irrates the other dogs jumping on them.  He needs a patient dog that likes to play.  He is a happy loving boy.  When on leash he jumps, twists, and carries the leash.  He just loves to go on leash - he thinks that is his play time! He will need to be careful in the sun as he will burn easily, as with other white Boxers. Please consider adopting or fostering this sweet boy!!

Reggie is a deaf white Boxer. He has a wonderful playful personality. However, he should not go to a home with cats. He thinks they are a toy and pounces on them. He is from Southern LA by New Orleans and was pulled for BoxAR Rescue just in time or he would have lost his life. He is staying in a temporary foster home until we find a foster home for him in Arkansas or nearby state. He has been neutered and got all of his shots. All he needs is a heartworm test. Please consider fostering or adopting this boy. He will need someone who can handle him and train him due to his deafness.

NOTE:
We are not a shelter or pound. We don't have a facility. We are all volunteers who love the Boxers. We have jobs and families and don't have "regular business hours". For this reason, we don't show the dogs until an application has been submitted. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt a Boxer, but it does tell us that your interest in rescue is serious. We thank you for being considerate of our time and efforts.
